National Grid Renewables is part of the National Grid Ventures division of National Grid and has a portfolio of solar, wind, and energy storage projects located throughout the United States in various stages of development, construction, and operation.Position DescriptionThe Marketing & Communications team at National Grid Renewables is seeking an Events Specialist to
lead event planning and execution. This small-but-mighty team is seeking an individual who is confident, humble, has an agile mindset, and above all else is a team player. Unique to this role, we are seeking an experienced leader who can galvanize internal and external stakeholders but is also willing to lean into others’ expertise and embody our value of doing what it takes to make it happen. This is a full-time position. 
 
Main Responsibilities
  • Lead planning and execution of large-scale community and public relations events, including but not limited to research, logistics, vendor and budget engagement, and securing contracts, with oversight and approval from Content & Events Manager.
  • Lead planning and execution of sponsored conferences, including but not limited to maintaining conference resources, budgeting, research, logistics and planning (including special hosted events for customers, partners, etc at/during conferences), and coordination with various business units on conference attendance.
  • Research and identify opportunities through conferences and events to promote our brand and expertise to enhance our reputation both within and outside the renewables industry (this includes both in person and virtual events).
  • Lead planning and execution of our annual Executive Partner Summit, including but not limited to research, logistics, vendor and budget management, and securing contracts, with oversight and approval from Communications & Events Manager.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Marketing & Communications team to ensure cohesive and consistent management of our company brand.
  • Assist, as needed, with project-level open houses and small events.
  • Lead the research and creation of event/conference target lists, demographic analysis, and lead management. 
  • Attend all relevant meetings and prepare weekly reports to provide status of work activities. 
  • This role may also include leading the planning and execution of internal events, such as the annual retreat and holiday party.
Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Preferred minimum 5 years work experience in conferences and events,
  • Additional experience in marketing and/or communications/public relations is a plus.
  • Experience working with email communications systems, CRM software, and the full suite of
    Microsoft products.
  • Candidate will be highly motivated, energetic, organized, self-sufficient, and a proven go-getter.
  • Candidate will have a desire to work in dynamic renewable energy industry and is a passionate learner.
Other Job Requirements 
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and effectively communicate with all stakeholders, including
    C-level executives, community members, landowners and farmers.
  • This role will also be required to perform administrative duties related to event and conference planning and execution.
  • This position will require travel, including but not limited to project open houses, conferences, and/or public relations events.
  • Ability to efficiently manage resources and budgets.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
